Lisanta is a new project within the MMM Express group, a large logistics company operating in the United States since 2006, with offices in Europe, including Ukraine.

We are currently looking for an experienced Fleet Maintenance Manager / OTR Repair Specialist to manage over-the-road repairs and breakdown situations for our fleet of semi-trucks operating across the United States.

This is a full-time remote position.

We are looking for someone who already has strong practical experience handling roadside repairs for a US trucking company and understands how to make the right decision when a truck breaks down hundreds of miles away from the company yard.

This is not simply a position where you call the closest repair shop.

We need someone who understands trucks, knows the US repair market, can evaluate repair options, negotiate with shops and towing companies, and make smart decisions based on cost, downtime, quality and urgency.

Who We Are Looking For:

You may be a great fit if you:

  • Have at least 2 years of experience handling OTR repairs for a US trucking fleet;
  • Have experience working specifically with Class 8 / semi-trucks;
  • Understand the basic mechanical systems of a truck and can communicate effectively with drivers, mechanics and dealerships;
  • Have strong English and feel comfortable making phone calls and negotiating with US vendors;
  • Understand typical repair costs and can recognize when a quote is unreasonable;
  • Know how to search for reliable repair shops, mobile mechanics, towing companies and dealerships across the United States;
  • Can compare several repair options and make a decision based on the full picture, not just the lowest price;
  • Are confident negotiating prices and challenging unreasonable charges professionally;
  • Stay calm in stressful breakdown situations;
  • Are responsible, organized and comfortable making decisions independently.

Previous experience performing these responsibilities for a US trucking company is a hard requirement.

We are looking for an experienced specialist, not someone entering US logistics for the first time.

Your Responsibilities:

Your main responsibility will be managing over-the-road repairs and breakdown situations from the moment the problem is reported until the truck is safely back on the road.

You will:

  • Communicate with drivers to understand the problem and collect the necessary information;
  • Evaluate the situation and determine the appropriate next steps;
  • Find repair shops, mobile mechanics, dealerships, tire services and towing companies;
  • Communicate with our inner shop and mechanics on all repairs of all trucks;
  • Call multiple vendors when necessary and compare pricing, ETA and capabilities;
  • Check shop ratings and reviews before sending equipment there;
  • Request and review repair estimates;
  • Evaluate whether quoted labor hours, parts and pricing are reasonable;
  • Negotiate repair and towing costs when necessary;
  • Professionally escalate unreasonable charges to shop managers or owners;
  • Handle difficult towing, storage and roadside repair situations;
  • Coordinate warranty repairs with dealerships when applicable;
  • Follow up with repair facilities and control repair progress;
  • Keep Operations and the driver updated;
  • Review invoices before approval;
  • Maintain records of repairs and vendors;
  • Help build and improve our internal database of trusted repair facilities across the United States.

What Good Decision-Making Means to Us:

We are not looking for someone who simply searches Google for the closest shop and sends the truck there.

We expect you to think:

Is this shop reliable?

Are their reviews good?

Is their estimate reasonable?

Can they actually start working on the truck today?

Is there another qualified shop 20–30 miles away with a better ETA or price?

Does towing the truck somewhere else make financial sense?

Is this a legitimate charge, or is the vendor taking advantage of an emergency situation?

How much will an additional day of downtime cost the company compared with paying slightly more for a faster repair?

The cheapest repair is not always the best decision.

The fastest repair is not always the best decision either.

We need someone who can evaluate the entire situation and make the best overall decision for the fleet.

Truck Knowledge Is Important:

You do not have to be a certified mechanic.

However, you must have enough practical knowledge of semi-trucks to understand repair situations and communicate confidently with mechanics.

You should have a working understanding of systems such as:

  • Engine;
  • Aftertreatment / DPF / DEF;
  • Electrical systems;
  • Batteries and charging systems;
  • Air systems;
  • Brakes;
  • Suspension;
  • Cooling system;
  • Tires and wheels;
  • Basic trailer repairs.

If a mechanic explains what is wrong with the truck, we expect you to understand the general problem and be able to evaluate the proposed solution.

Negotiation Skills Are Important:

US roadside repairs can become expensive very quickly.

There will be situations involving towing companies, storage fees, emergency repairs or shops quoting significantly above normal market pricing.

We need someone who knows how to protect the company's interests professionally.

That means being able to:

  • Ask the right questions;
  • Request detailed estimates;
  • Compare alternative vendors;
  • Challenge unreasonable charges;
  • Speak with a manager or owner when necessary;
  • Negotiate without creating unnecessary conflict;
  • Know when it makes sense to continue negotiating and when getting the truck back on the road is more important.

We want someone who can be firm while remaining professional.

English Is Important:

Strong spoken English is required for this position.

You will regularly communicate by phone with American repair shops, dealerships, mechanics, towing companies and drivers.

We are looking for someone who can confidently explain technical situations, ask detailed questions and negotiate pricing in English.

Upper-Intermediate / Advanced English, ideally B2+/C1.

Will Be a Big Advantage:

  • Experience as a Fleet Maintenance Manager, Roadside Repair Specialist, Fleet Manager or Maintenance Coordinator in US trucking;
  • Experience working with Volvo, Freightliner, International, Kenworth or Peterbilt trucks;
  • Experience with Volvo or Freightliner dealerships and warranty cases;
  • Existing knowledge of repair facilities and towing companies across the US;
  • Experience disputing excessive towing, storage or repair charges;
  • Understanding of preventive maintenance;
  • Familiarity with DOT-related repairs and out-of-service issues;
  • Experience managing a medium or large fleet.

What We Offer:

  • Full-time long-term position;
  • 100% remote work;
  • Work with a real US trucking fleet;
  • Direct communication with company management and Operations;
  • Authority to research and recommend the best repair solution rather than simply following scripts;
  • Support from Operations, Safety, Accounting and other company departments;
  • Opportunity to build and improve the company's maintenance processes;
  • Competitive compensation based on experience;
  • Salary in USD through FOP;
  • Stable long-term cooperation with an established US transportation company.

What Is Most Important to Us:

We are not simply looking for someone who can make phone calls to repair shops.

We need a person who can take ownership of a breakdown situation.

When a truck goes down, we want to know that there is someone on the other side who will investigate the problem, compare the available options, protect the company's money and get the truck back on the road as efficiently as possible.

For this position, we value:

Experience + Truck Knowledge + English + Negotiation Skills + Responsibility + Good Judgment.

Our core values are driver-oriented service, responsibility to the client, and trust within the team.

We value our reputation, so we are building a team of experienced professionals who want to grow together with the company.

WE HAUL EFFORT !
